Horticulture is the branch of agriculture that deals with the art, science, technology, and business of growing plants. It includes the cultivation of medicinal plants, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, herbs, sprouts, mushrooms, algae, flowers, seaweeds and non-food crops such as grass and ornamental trees and plants.
This year at the Essex Young Farmers Country Show, we have a fantastic selection of exhibitors in our well established Horticultural Area.
The exhibitors this year are: The Federation of Essex Women’s Institute, Geoff Lock Ironwork, Harmony Plants Ltd, Rougham Hall Nurseries, Wildthings Woodcraft, Merton Hall Shrubs & Plants, Mistletoe Trees and Essex Multi-Tasking.
Thank you once again to Olivers Nurseries for sponsoring the area!
The Horticulture Exhibitors are located next to the main entrance of the showground and as always, we welcome you to come and say hello and have a look at the beautiful display. Whether you are a garden designer, grower, retailer or you just love the garden and being outside, the exhibitors and I would love to meet you at the Horticulture Area!
We also have a colouring competition for Under 12’s at the front of the Horticulture Area where the most creatively coloured picture will win a prize from our sponsor as well as featuring with their work in the next copy of our Essex Young Farmers Magazine! The winner will be announced on Friday 26th May after the show.
